Japan to Introduce E10 Shinkansen Trains in India for Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project: Report
Japan to Introduce E10 Shinkansen Trains in India Latest News: The Japanese government has agreed to introduce next-generation E10 Shinkansen trains in India, as part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project, Hindustan Times reported.
“In the spirit of the strategic partnership between Japan and India, the Japanese government has agreed to introduce E10 Shinkansen trains in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project,” the Indian Railways said in a statement, according to the report.
The E10 trains will reportedly be introduced simultaneously in both Japan and India. In India, they will be deployed on the 508-km-long Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor, which is being developed using Japanese Shinkansen technology.
“The bullet train project (Mumbai-Ahmedabad) recently achieved a major milestone by completing 310 km of viaduct construction," the Ministry of Railways stated in a press release.
The Japanese Shinkansen is a globally renowned high-speed rail system, known for its exceptional speed, safety, and punctuality. It connects major cities across Japan and has been a symbol of technological excellence since its launch in 1964.
According to the Hindustan Times report, Japan currently operates E5 series Shinkansen trains, and the E10 series will be the next-generation model, designed with enhanced features for greater performance and comfort.
