SC issues notice to SBI for not disclosing electoral bond numbers

Supreme Court Notice to SBI Over Electoral Bond Numbers: In a major development, the Supreme Court on Friday issued a notice to the State Bank of India (SBI) for not disclosing the numbers of Electoral bonds. 

According to information, the Supreme Court on Friday categorically stated that the State Bank of India (SBI) has to disclose the electoral bonds numbers as well, in addition to the details it has already disclosed related to the purchase and redemption of the bonds.

The Supreme Court bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice BR Gavai, Justice JB Pardiwala, and Justice Manoj Misra reconvened on Friday to hear an application filed by the Election Commission.

In its application, the ECI also sought the return of sealed cover documents furnished by the commission to the court in adherence to its interim order. 

CJI DY Chandrachud said, "One thing. Who is appearing for the State Bank of India? They have not disclosed the bond numbers. It has to be disclosed by the State Bank of India."
