Parliament Security Breach Latest News: A Storm of controversy engulfed the Lok Sabha today as 14 members of the Congress party faced suspension for causing disruption in the House. The uproar in the Lok Sabha was triggered by a massive security lapse within the Parliament premises. The negligence in ensuring the safety of the esteemed institution prompted a fiery debate, leading to the suspension of five Congress members for the remainder of the current parliamentary session. The charges against them include disrupting the proceedings of the House and insulting the chair.
Congress MPs Face Suspension
Five Congress members, namely Benny Behanan, V.K. Sreekandan, Mohammad Javed, PR. Natarajan, Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, K. Subrahmanyam, SR Parthiban, S Venkatesan, and Manickam Tagore, have been suspended for "irregular behavior" for the rest of the Lok Sabha session. The suspension was announced by Chairman B Mahtab, underscoring the severity of their alleged actions.
In a subsequent development, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi proposed the suspension of an additional nine Congress members – TN Prathapan, Hibi Eden, Jothimani, Ramya Haridas, and Dean Kuriakose. Their Suspension, proposed for the remainder of the winter session, was approved by a voice vote in the Vidhan Sabha. The charges against them include insulting the chair during the agitation by opposition members.
This unprecedented move to suspend a total of 14 Congress MPs reflects the gravity of the situation and the determination of parliamentary authorities to maintain decorum and discipline within the legislative body.
