PM Modi Calls UK PM Rishi Sunak

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephonic conversation with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Thursday. He demanded strict action from Sunak against anti-India elements. The PM also raised the issue of Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi who have taken refuge in Britain. He demanded the British government to speed up the process of their extradition.

PM Modi invited Sunak to the G-20 summit to be held in September. On this, Sunak also reiterated Britain's support for India's chairmanship of the G-20. PM Modi told Sunak that some anti-India elements in Britain are openly taking the law into their hands, which is alarming. Strict action should be taken against such culprits.

Notably, In response, Sunak assured that there would be no letdown in the security of Indian embassies in Britain. He further said that the attack on the Indian High Commission in London can never be accepted. PM Modi also discussed the economic relations between India and Britain with Sunak. Both had a long discussion on India-UK Roadmap 2030. PM Modi said,"Some people have looted the government treasury of India and hid in Britain. Hand over such criminals as soon as possible so that they can be punished according to the laws of India."
