Aadhaar Address Free Update News

Aadhaar Address Free Update News: As the deadline for updating Aadhaar information without incurring any charges approaches on Thursday, December 14, residents are encouraged to make use of the free service available on the myAadhaar portal. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has emphasized the importance of revalidating demographic details, particularly for Aadhaar cards issued a decade ago that have not undergone any updates.

The MyAadhaar portal allows users to avail of this service without any cost until December 14, after which a fee of Rs 50 will be applicable, even on the online platform. The UIDAI has been actively advocating for the submission of Proof of Identity and Proof of Address (PoI/PoA) documents to ensure accurate and updated information.

To update the address online for free, residents can follow these steps:

- Visit the Aadhaar self-service update portal and click on 'proceed to update address.' Log in using the Aadhaar number, registered mobile number, and OTP.

- If valid address proof is available, click on 'Proceed to Update Address.'

- Enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number and click on 'Send OTP.' Enter the OTP and log in to the Aadhaar account.

- Enter the new address, selecting the 'update address via address proof' option. Alternatively, the 'Update Address vis Secret Code' option can also be used.

- Input the residential address mentioned in the 'Proof of Address.' Choose the document type to be submitted as address proof.

- Upload the scanned copy of the address proof and click on the 'Submit' button.

- The Aadhaar update request will be accepted, and a 14-digit Update Request Number (URN) will be generated.

After updating the address, residents can check the status via URN and download the updated Aadhaar card for their records. The list of acceptable documents for updating is available on the official UIDAI website, providing a comprehensive guide for users navigating the online address update process.
