Security Forces Engage Terrorists in Rajouri District; Army Soldier, and Policeman Injured

JAMMU: A Fierce Encounter unfolded between terrorists and security forces in the Rajouri district of the Jammu division, resulting in the demise of one terrorist and the tragic loss of an army soldier. Additionally, the Indian Army's loyal labrador dog, Kent, who played a crucial role in the search operation, also succumbed to injuries sustained during the encounter.

Kent, an integral part of the army's search operation team, had been assisting soldiers in their quest to locate the terrorists. Tragically, during the exchange of fire, Kent was struck by enemy bullets and could not be saved.

In addition to the casualties, three individuals, including a police Special Police Officer (SPO), sustained injuries in the encounter. The brave soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice has been identified as Javinder Singh of 21 Rashtriya Rifles. The injured security personnel have been identified as Sub Inspector Muhammad Ashraf (SPO), Constable Muhammad Rafiq, and Constable Muhammad Iqbal.

The Encounter took place in the Narla area of Rajouri district after security forces received intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists. Promptly responding to the information, the combined team of police and security forces reached the designated location. According to the Defense Public Relations Officer (PRO), upon encircling the terrorists, an exchange of gunfire ensued. In the retaliatory action by the security forces, one terrorist was neutralized.
