Audi Crushes 5 Sleeping on Footpath in Shiva Camp, Vasant Vihar, Delhi Latest News: A tragic incident occurred in the early hours of July 9 near the Indian Oil Petrol Pump in front of Shiva Camp, Vasant Vihar, Delhi, when an Audi SUV veered onto the footpath and ran over a group of people who were sleeping.
The incident took place at approximately 1:45 AM. The Vasant Vihar police received a PCR call and promptly responded to the scene.
According to reports, five individuals were injured, including a child. The victims have been identified as Ladhi (40 years), Bimla (8 years), Sabami (45 years), Narayani (35 years) and Ramchander (45 years).
All injured individuals were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
Visuals of the vehicle, shared by ANI, show the white Audi Q5 3.0 TDI with severe front-end damage. The hood is completely crumpled, and the entire front bumper, grille, and headlights are destroyed, exposing internal components. The bonnet is also crushed, indicating a high-impact frontal collision. The side curtain airbags were deployed, suggesting significant force during the crash.
The SUV is registered in Sikkim, and the driver has been identified as Utsav Shekhar, a 40-year-old resident of Dwarka, Delhi.
It is currently unclear whether he has any personal or official connection to Sikkim.
According to Delhi Police, Shekhar has been apprehended, and legal action has been initiated against him.
