Farmers Protest News: Police tear gas shells at Shambhu border as protesters continue march to Delhi

Farmers Delhi Chalo Protest March News Today From Shambhu Border: And it begins! The situation at the Shambhu border in Punjab is getting out of control as the police have resorted to tearing gas shells while the protesters are adamant about marching toward Delhi to protest against the Central government over their demands.

After two years of compelling the Centre to revoke the three controversial farm laws and concluding their year-long protest at Delhi's borders, Punjab farmer unions are back with their intention to march to the National Capital on Tuesday.

They have been emphasising their demands which include a legal guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) for crops, loan waiver, and pension scheme for farmers besides justice for the Lakhimpur Kheri incident among others.

The decision for the 'Delhi Chalo' movement came after prolonged, inconclusive talks in Chandigarh that featured representatives such as Samyukta Kisan Morcha's Jagjit Singh Dallewal and Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee's Sarwan Singh Pandher in discussions with Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Arjun Munda.
