About the dialogue with the protesting farmers, Union minister Arjun Munda said, " The government is getting information that many people could try to pollute the atmosphere, I urge the farmers to stay careful of such elements. The government of India is committed to the welfare of farmers. An agreement has been reached on some matters... We are open to many issues, and we can work on ways to find solutions..."

Likewise, he said, "We care about the interests of the farmers. It is not our concern if someone is doing politics over this issue. We have always been ready for talks and discussions and we are ready to do everything possible to find a solution to this issue. This issue also concerns the state governments. We need time to understand this issue and find a method to solve this..."

After last night's meeting with farmers, Arjun Munda said, "Government always wants to find solutions for problems by talking. While we found consensus on many issues, there were other issues on which committees needed to be formed. We are ready for talks with an open heart."
