Rahul Gandhi Chairs Review Meeting with Congress Leaders on Raising Public Issues in Parliament
The winter session of the parliament is currently underway and is scheduled to conclude on the 19th of December.
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi today chaired a review meeting, on the party's performance during the parliamentary winter session so far, of the Congress Lok Sabha MPs at the Parliament House Annexe Extension Building.
Congress has 99 MPs in the lower house of the parliament.
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi speaking to PTI said, “In today’s party meeting, we reviewed how effectively we raised people’s issues inside and outside Parliament - from labour code concerns to air pollution and the IndiGo matter.”
“We also discussed how Kharge ji in the Rajya Sabha and Priyanka ji in the Lok Sabha gave the full truth on Vande Mataram, defeating the BJP’s intentions. Everyone saw Rahul Gandhi challenge the Home Minister in the House to debate the evidence he presented over 'vote theft', which left him unsettled and led to some hurried, unparliamentary remarks. These points were discussed in detail today.”
During the meeting, MPs passed a condolence motion honouring Late Congress leader Shivraj Patel, who passed away on Friday, after a brief illness in his hometown, Latur in Maharashtra.
The Shivraj Patel served as Home Minister, Speaker, and Governor.
Meanwhile, the winter session of the parliament is currently underway and is scheduled to conclude on the 19th of December.
