Court Extends Manish Sisodia's Judicial Custody till June 2

NEW-DELHI: A Delhi Court has extended the judicial custody of Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia till June 2 in a corruption case in connection with the alleged excise scam. Special Judge MK Nagpal extended the custody of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia after he was produced before the court on expiry of his judicial custody.

The Court had dismissed Sisodia's bail application on March 31, saying that Sisodia was the main conspirator of the criminal conspiracy in the case and had allegedly paid an advance bribe of around Rs 90-100 crore to him and his associates in the Delhi government.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had arrested Sisodia after several rounds of questioning in connection with alleged corruption in the now-cancelled Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22.
