Four Bullets Removed from Radhika Yadav’s Body; Father Confesses to Murder
Four bullets were removed from the body of Radhika Yadav, a former national-level tennis player, during the postmortem examination. She was allegedly shot and killed by her father, 49-year-old Deepak Yadav.
Radhika’s mortal remains were taken for last rites after the completion of the postmortem.
Earlier today, a Gurugram court remanded Deepak Yadav to one-day police custody in connection with the murder of his 25-year-old daughter.
Station House Officer (SHO) Vinod Kumar stated, “We’ve shared the motive. He was upset about the tennis academy run by Radhika. So far, there is no evidence suggesting an honour killing. We had sought a two-day remand.”
According to the FIR filed by Radhika’s uncle, Kuldeep Yadav, the incident occurred around 10:30 AM on Thursday while Radhika was cooking. Hearing a loud noise, Kuldeep rushed upstairs to the kitchen and found her lying in a pool of blood. He alleged that her father shot her from behind.
Kuldeep and his son reportedly rushed Radhika to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
“My niece was a very good tennis player. She had won several trophies. I’m shocked by what happened,” Kuldeep told the police.
During interrogation, Deepak confessed to the murder. Radhika ran a tennis academy in Sector 57, Gurugram, which her father had repeatedly asked her to shut down — a request she had refused.
“Whenever I went to Wazirabad to get milk, people would say I was living off my daughter’s income. Some even questioned her character. I was extremely disturbed and told her to close the academy, but she didn’t listen,” Deepak reportedly told police.
“It affected my dignity. I was very stressed. So I shot her,” he confessed.
Investigators revealed that Deepak Yadav was financially well-off, earning approximately Rs 15–17 lakh per month from multiple rental properties in Gurugram. According to News Arena India, he is known as a wealthy landlord in the area and owns a luxury farmhouse.
Police are currently investigating all possible angles in the case.
