New Delhi: Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers DV Sadananda Gowda said that the Department of Pharmaceuticals has given its nod to lift the ban on exports of Hydroxychloroquine.

India banned the export of Hydroxychloroquine on March 25, with a few exceptions. Some have suggested that the drug may be used to treat corona virus.

Excluding SEZ / Export Oriented Units (EOU), manufacturers have to supply 20 per cent of production to the domestic market.

He said that the Directorate General of Foreign Trade has been asked to issue a formal notification in this regard.
