This year 96% Monsoon will hit the country

NEW-DELHI: The India Meteorological Department has predicted that the monsoon will remain normal this year. This year 96% (+/-5%) monsoon will hit the country. This year, there will be 83.7 mm of rain across the country. El Nino conditions may form around July. It will not have any direct relationship with Monsoon.

Surface warming in the Pacific Ocean near Peru is called El Niño. El Nino causes changes in ocean temperature and atmosphere. Due to the change, the sea temperature increases by 4-5 degrees. El Nino affects the weather all over the world.

India will receive normal rainfall during the Southwest Monsoon. According to the Secretary of the Ministry of Soil Science M. Ravichandran, many parts of peninsular region, adjoining eastern, northeastern regions and some parts of northwestern India are likely to experience normal rainfall. The years that El Nino has been active have not been the bad years in terms of monsoons. El Niño conditions may develop during the monsoon and its impact may be felt in the second phase of the monsoon.
