IRCTC Website and App Down Once Again, Users Struggle to Book Tatkal Tickets

IRCTC Website and App Down Latest News Today: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website, which facilitates train ticket bookings, went down once again on Friday morning, leaving users frustrated and unable to access its services. Passengers attempting to book Tatkal tickets were met with an error message stating, "Ticket booking and cancellation will not be available for the next one hour. Sorry for the inconvenience."

The IRCTC platform is essential for various railway-related services, including ticket booking, ticket status checks, and PNR inquiries. With both the website and app down, users faced significant challenges in completing these tasks.

Outages Reported Across Platforms

According to Downdetector, a site that tracks online outages, complaints about IRCTC’s services started surfacing around 10:50 AM. Users reported issues with both the app and website, with many expressing frustration over their inability to book tickets during the crucial Tatkal window.

Frustration Spills Over to Social Media

Social media platforms were flooded with complaints from disappointed users. One user remarked, "Tatkal tickets are not being booked on IRCTC. The website has gone down several times this month. Indian Railways, with a budget of ₹2.5 lakh crore, cannot even maintain a website. This is pathetic."

Another user vented their frustration by tweeting, "The IRCTC app is down for the next one hour. During peak travel seasons like Diwali, Pongal, or any holiday period, booking Tatkal tickets through the app becomes a nightmare. Total disappointment!"

Recurring Issue for IRCTC Users

This is not the first time that IRCTC users have faced such outages. In December alone, the e-ticketing platform went down three times, causing widespread inconvenience. On December 9 and December 26, the website was reportedly unavailable due to maintenance activities. A similar issue occurred on December 31, adding to passengers’ woes during the busy holiday season.

Calls for Improved Service

Frequent outages have raised questions about the reliability of IRCTC’s e-ticketing infrastructure. As one of the world’s largest railway networks, the Indian Railways caters to millions of passengers daily. Many are now urging the railways to prioritize upgrading its digital platforms to handle heavy traffic and ensure seamless operations.
