Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar Encounter: Three Soldiers Injured

Jammu and Kashmir Kishtwar Encounter Latest News Today: In an encounter with terrorists in the Keshwan forests of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, three Army soldiers sustained injuries on Sunday, officials reported.

This marks the third such clash in the last 24 hours as security forces continue to engage in an intense operation against armed militants in the region.

The encounter began around 11 am when joint teams of the Army and police located suspected terrorists hiding in the dense forest area. Authorities believe that three to four terrorists are trapped, reportedly the same group responsible for the recent abduction and killing of two Village Defence Guards (VDGs).

The operation in the Kuntwara and Keshwan forests has been ongoing since Thursday evening, following the tragic deaths of Kuldeep Kumar and Nazeer Ahmed Padder, who had gone to graze cattle and did not return. Their bodies were found later, indicating they had been targeted by militants.

Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed deep sorrow over the incident, condemning the violence and calling for strengthened security measures. “The terrorists killed two innocent men who had taken their livestock to graze. I expect security forces to swiftly close any gaps in the counter-terror grid to prevent such attacks in the future,” he stated.
