Fire Breaks out in Dimapur of Nagaland

DIMAPUR: A Major Fire broke out at 'Burma Camp' in Nagaland's Dimapur district on Sunday, killing one woman and rendering nearly 900 people homeless. An officer shared the information.

The fire broke out in the East Block of Burma Camp at around 12 noon, the official said. He told that around 260 houses of Straw were gutted in the fire. An elderly woman died and several others were injured in the fire. He told that due to the explosion of gas cylinders in large numbers, many employees of the fire brigade have also suffered injuries. About 900 people, mostly workers, were left homeless due to the fire. 

The Cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Reportedly, Local people claimed that some people are also missing after the incident. The official said that several fire brigades were called, which brought the fire under control after efforts of three hours.
