Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a government-owned oil and gas company, has requested its industrial and commercial customers to make necessary arrangements and explore alternate fuel supplies or sources to meet their fuel requirements.
The notice has been issued following a directive from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, asking all public sector oil marketing companies to ensure that LPG is supplied and marketed solely to domestic LPG consumers.
In the notice, HPCL said that due to the prevailing geopolitical situation, the global supply chain has been impacted, affecting both the costs and inventories of LPG.
It added that in view of the directive and the current supply constraints, the company will face limitations in continuing LPG supplies to industrial and commercial customers for the time being.
HPCL further said it is closely monitoring the evolving situation and will inform customers of any positive developments regarding the restoration of supplies.
