Petrol Prices Drops in Select Indian States; Crude Oil Prices Remain Below $90 Per Barrel

Fluctuations in petrol & diesel prices showcase the dynamic nature of the fuel market

NEW-DELHI: International crude oil prices have slightly risen compared to the previous day but are still below $90 per barrel. WTI crude oil was priced at $86.39 per barrel around 6 am on Monday morning, and Brent crude stood at $88.13 per barrel. Consequently, oil marketing companies in India have revised the prices of petrol and diesel, a practice that occurs every day at 6 am.

Significant Price Drop in Multiple States

Notably, several states in India have witnessed a notable reduction in petrol and diesel prices. Rajasthan has seen a substantial drop, with petrol being cheaper by 93 paise and diesel by 84 paise. Similarly, Maharashtra is experiencing a decline in petrol prices by 89 paise and diesel by 84 paise. Bihar, Haryana, and Jammu and Kashmir have also observed a reduction in fuel prices. Conversely, Uttar Pradesh has seen a slight increase in petrol and diesel prices, rising by 27 paise.

Petrol and Diesel Rates in Four Major Cities

In the national capital, Delhi, petrol is priced at Rs 96.72 per litre and diesel at Rs 89.62 per litre. Moving to Mumbai, petrol is being sold at Rs 106.31 per litre, and diesel at Rs 94.27 per litre. In Kolkata, petrol is available at Rs 106.03 per litre and diesel at Rs 92.76 per litre, while in Chennai, petrol and diesel are priced at Rs 102.74 and Rs 94.34 per litre, respectively.
