New Delhi: Everybody is trying to deal with the coronavirus epidemic, but everyday one or the other problem comes to the fore.

The Union government has acknowledged that the drug remdesivir, which helps in defeating the coronavirus is being sold in black market in Delhi. The needy people are being charged for this medicine at a very high rate.

Dr VG Somani, Drug Controller of India, said in a letter to the Drug Controllers of the States and Union Territories that his office had received a letter expressing concern that some persons were selling drugs at ten times to its cost.

He said that the complaint was received from the social media platform 'Local Circles' through the Ministry of Health. The Drug Controller of India has directed the authorities to keep a close watch on the sale of remdesivir vaccine and to curb its black marketing.

In such cases, the supply of this medicine is less in most of the states. That is why black marketers are selling this vaccine at a price they want.
