Supreme Court Orders States, UTs to Remove Stray Cattle from Highways; Directs Formation of Highway Patrol Teams
The apex court also directed States and Union Territories to form dedicated highway patrol teams to catch stray cattle from roads
The Supreme Court of India, in a major judgment on Friday, directed all States, Union Territories, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and civic bodies to remove stray cattle from national highways, state highways, and other roads, ANI reported.
The apex court also directed States and Union Territories to form dedicated highway patrol teams to catch stray cattle from roads and shift them to shelter homes, where they will be properly taken care of.
