Bengaluru Heavy Rains Latest News

Bengaluru Heavy Rains Latest News: Bengaluru, the bustling IT hub of India, found itself in the grip of a monsoon deluge on Monday as heavy rains lashed the city, inundating roads and severely disrupting traffic. The downpours left several underpasses submerged in knee-deep water, creating a challenging situation for commuters.

Several localities, including Malleswaram, Shantinagar, Mysore Bank, and Town Hall, bore the brunt of the relentless rainfall. Citizens took to social media to share videos illustrating the extent of the flooding, with roads resembling waterways and traffic moving at a snail's pace.

While there was a brief respite from the showers during the evening, the night brought a resurgence of heavy rain. Notably, the Srirampur and Lingarjpura underpasses were among the areas severely affected by the monsoon's fury, compounding the woes of residents and commuters.

In response to the crisis, Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar, made a surprise midnight visit to the war room of the civic body Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) head office, located at Hudson Circle. During his impromptu inspection, Shivakumar reviewed the disaster preparedness and relief work carried out by the city administration in light of the torrential rains.

The visit by the Deputy Chief Minister highlights the government's proactive approach in addressing the challenges posed by the heavy downpours and reaffirms the commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of Bengaluru's residents. As the city grapples with the aftermath of the monsoon onslaught, efforts continue to mitigate the impact and facilitate a swift return to normalcy.
