Five Army Personnel and Local Driver Injured in Accident; Vehicle Plunges into Freezing River in Drass: Six people, including five Army personnel, were injured when a vehicle met with an accident at Kushal Mod, Menamarg in Drass, while on its way from Drass to Srinagar, according to reports.
In the visuals coming in from the scene, it appears that it has freshly snowed, and the road appears visually slippery.
The vehicle has plunged into a freezing cold river, partially submerging in the water, and with its headlights still on.
All six people, board the Kargil-registered Xylo vehicle, sustained injuries, along with the local driver.
Upon receiving the information, local authorities and rescue teams rushed to the spot and promptly shifted the injured to a nearby medical facility for necessary treatment.
The condition of the injured is reported stable. The army personnel were on leave and were heading home.
