Gold Worth More Than Rs 1 Cr Recovered from Two Passengers at Hyderabad International Airport

HYDERABAD: Customs officials at the international airport have arrested two passengers on charges of smuggling gold worth Rs 1 crore. A Statement said that acting on a tip-off, two male passengers who arrived here from Dubai were stopped by the officials of the Hyderabad Customs Unit last night.
Reportedly, During the search of the passengers, it was found that they had hidden a total of six golden capsules sealed with black tape near their private parts. The statement said that a total of 1,705.3 grams of gold valued at Rs 1,05,21,701 has been seized by the Customs Department from the two passengers arrested under the Indian Customs Act, 1962. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
