J&K Police Arrests two smugglers with 11 kg of heroin worth Rs 70 crores
Further Investigation in the matter is underway
JAMMU: Police has arrested two drug smugglers after busting drug smuggling module across the border. 11 kg of heroin worth Rs 70 crore and cash worth Rs 11.82 lakh have been recovered from their possession. Both have admitted during interrogation that this consignment has been sent from Pakistan.
As per the reports, police is interrogating the two accused about the other members of the gang. The police said that both the arrested smugglers live in a rented house in Srinagar. Based on specific information, Srinagar Police conducted raid at the house of Ghulam Mohammad Dar in Rajbagh, Srinagar.
During the search, 11.089 kg of heroin and cash worth Rs. 11,82500 were recovered. Meanwhile, Sajjad Ahmed Badana, a resident of Nichian Village in Karnah area of Kupwara district, and Zaheer Ahmed Tench of Amrooi Village in Karnah were arrested. According to the police, this amount has been collected from the sale of heroin. Sources said that both have admitted during interrogation that they have been in this business for a long time. Notably, Narco-terrorism is being promoted continuously from across the border. Several cases of drug smuggling across LoC in Kupwara, Bandipora and Baramulla have been busted earlier.
