Swift action by Kangra Police leads to the apprehension of three individuals from Pathankot in possession of illegal firearms and opium

KANGRA: In a significant operation, the Kangra Police in Himachal Pradesh successfully apprehended three youths from Pathankot, Punjab, who were in possession of illicit weapons. The individuals were intercepted during their journey from Pathankot towards Kangra.

The police, in collaboration with the Excise Department and Damtal Police, effectively blockaded Bhadroa, enabling a vehicle inspection. During the search, two pistols, a country knife, and approximately 187.70 grams of opium were discovered in the possession of the suspects. The arrested individuals were identified as Rahul, Deepak Malhotra, and Abhinandan, all residents of Pathankot (Punjab). Legal actions have been initiated against them under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act.

Meanwhile, authorities are intensifying efforts to apprehend the culprits responsible for defacing the office walls of the Jal Shakti Department in Dharamshala with provocative slogans. Despite three days passing since the incident, the police have yet to apprehend the suspects. A Special Investigation Unit (SIT) has been constituted to probe the matter, aiming to swiftly identify and bring the culprits to justice.
