Amarnath Yatra suspended news today, Jammu and Kashmir weather update: In view of the heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir, the Amarnath Yatra has been temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure. 

Notably, huge enthusiasm is seen among the devotees of Lord Shiva regarding the Amarnath Yatra. Despite heavy rain, this journey continued till Friday, but due to bad weather, the Amarnath Yatra has been suspended today. 

The decision has been taken in view of the continuous rain since last night. The passengers reportedly waited till 6 am in the morning to travel at Domel checkpoint.

It is pertinent to mention that the Amarnath Yatra began on June 29 and was suspended on both routes on Saturday due to intermittent heavy rain in the region. 

It is to inform you that the authority has sent the yatra back to the camp at 6 am. There is continuous rain at that place and the weather is also bad. Therefore, no new batch of Amarnath pilgrims was allowed to proceed towards the holy cave, from Nunwan Base Camp via Chandanwari axis. 

According to the officials, the passengers will only be allowed to proceed after the weather improves.
