MEA responses to security breach by Khalistani Extremist during Jaishankar’s London Visit latest news: In a statement issued by Ministry of External Affairs, ministry has expressed a deep concern and strongly condemned a breach in security that occurred during the Jaishankar’s official visit to London on Thursday.
The security breach took place on Wednesday as Jaishankar was leaving after a scheduled discussion at Chatham House in London. Outside the venue, a pro-Khalistani activist ran towards the minister’s car and tore the Indian Tricolour in front of the convoy while others shouted pro-Khalistani slogans and waved flags.
In the statement, Ministry strongly denounced the act saying, "We have seen the footage of a breach of security during the visit of the External Affairs Minister to the UK," the MEA statement said. "We condemn the provocative activities of this small group of separatists and extremists."
MEA further said, “We deplore the misuse of democratic freedoms by such elements. We expect the host government in such cases to fully live up to their diplomatic obligations."
As per reports, police quickly intervened and handled the situation.
Jaishankar is on a six-day visit to the UK, which began in early March and is scheduled to conclude on March 9.
