Opposition walks out of Rajya Sabha during PM Modi's speech in Rajya Sabha
Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued with his speech, which is being delivered in response to the President's Address.
On Thursday evening at around 5 pm, as soon as Prime Minister Narendra Modi rose to speak in the Rajya Sabha, opposition members began sloganeering in an attempt to disrupt his speech.
They were also heard chanting “Allow LoP (Rahul Gandhi) to speak” and demanding that the Leader of the Opposition be given an opportunity to speak.
The disruption followed days of protests by the opposition over the government not allowing Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, to speak on the President’s Address and on a matter related to the India–China conflict, which was mentioned in former Army Chief General Manoj Naravane’s unpublished memoir.
Despite the sloganeering and the walkout by opposition members, Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued with his reply on Motion of Thanks to the President's Address.
