A listed gangster wanted in more than a dozen cases of heinous crimes, was gunned down during an encounter with the police in Muzaffarnagar in the early hours of Wednesday.
Nitin aka Babuwa of Agauta in Bulandshahr, was carrying a cash reward of Rs 50,000 for his arrest. Senior officers who reached the spot later claimed that besides the cash reward, the police team involved in the encounter will be feted.
As per reports, Shyamveer of Nagla Khepad of Muzaffarnagar, informed the police that hardened criminal Nitin had took shelter in his fields in thee wee hours of Wednesday and might kill him. Earlier, Shyamveer’s brother was killed by Nitin and on January 26, his father Shobharam was also gunned down by the gangster as he was witness to his son’s killing.
The cops immediately rushed there and warned the ganglord to surrender. This was met with gun shots. The cops retaliated and in the exchange of fire, Nitin was gunned down. Two policemen were also injured in the shootout, while an accomplie of the ganglord managed to flee the spot after suffering bullet injury. Nitin was wanted in more than a dozen cases of murder and loot in Bulandshahr and Hapur districts.
