NEW-DELHI: In a significant development, the Special Cell of the Delhi Police launched raids on Tuesday morning at various locations linked to the news portal 'Newsclick' and its journalists. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had previously conducted raids at the company's premises as part of an ongoing investigation into the funding sources of 'Newsclick'. Officials revealed that during the operation, the police successfully retrieved 'dump data,' which refers to data transferred from mobile phones, computers, laptops, or other electronic devices. This move was a crucial step in the investigative process. The Special Cell has since registered a new case and commenced a thorough investigation into the matter.

Following the raids, senior journalist Abhisar Sharma shared on the social media platform 'X' that Delhi police had visited his residence, confiscating his laptop and phone. Further details regarding the ongoing investigation are anticipated.

Notably, These actions by the Delhi Police and the Enforcement Directorate signify a deepening inquiry into the funding and operational aspects of 'Newsclick,' a news portal that has been under scrutiny in recent times.
