BIHAR: A Girl student died due to drowning in Ganga river in Samastipur city of Bihar. The dead body was recovered on Monday after the 56 hours long search operation. The girl's body was found about 25 km away from the drowning site. 

As per the reports, the deceased has been identified as Anjali Kumari. The search is on for Nisha Devi who drowned in the river along with Anjali. The incident took place near Siddhi Ghat of Rasalpur Panchayat of Mohanpur OP area.

Anjali Kumari, a resident of Teghra village in Begusarai district, came to attend the worship of Bhuiya Baba in Mohanpur village of her maternal uncle Pramod Chaudhary. Nisha Devi, the 20-year-old wife of Santosh Chaudhary, a resident of Abdullah Chowk of Patori police station area, had gone to her maternal grandmother's house. She also came to join the worship.

The devotees were going to bathe in the Ganges before the puja. Anjali and Nisha also went with them. Meanwhile, both went into deep water and drowned in the river. Notably, Anjali was going to take the intermediate examination in 2024.
