BJP Releases 1st Episode of 'Congress Files'

NEW-DELHI: In a fresh attack on the Congress party over corruption allegations, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday released the first episode of 'Congress Files'. Tweeted by BJP's official Twitter handle, the video shows how corruption and scams took place one after the other during the Congress rule.

The Video is titled “Congress Means Corruption”. BJP said, “Congress has looted Rs 48,20,69,00,00,000 from the public in its 70 years of rule. This money could have been used for security and development."

The Bharatiya Janata Party said, "This amount could have built or bought 24 INS Vikrant, 300 Rafale jets and 1000 Mars missions. But the country had to pay the price of Congress corruption and it fell behind in the race of progress."

The BJP further attacked the Congress party and termed its 2004-2014 tenure as a "lost decade". BJP further said in the video, 'Keep aside the entire 70 years and look at the last 10 years i.e. 2004-14, it was the 'lost decade'. Corruption continued in their reign.

BJP talks about Coal scam worth Rs 1.86 lakh crore, 2G spectrum scam worth Rs 1.76 lakh crore, MNREGA scam worth Rs 10 lakh crore, Commonwealth scam worth Rs 70,000 crore, bribery of Rs 362 crore in helicopter deal with Italy and Rs 12 crore bribe (Chairman of Railway Board) in the video. At the end of the video message, BJP said, 'This is only a tableau of Congress corruption, the film is not over yet.'
