28 Foreign Nationals Deported for Staying in Delhi over Stipulated Time

New-Delhi: A total of 28 foreign nationals overstaying in the national capital have been sent back to their country last month. The police gave this information on Sunday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) M Harsha Vardhan said a police team was tasked to identify foreign nationals who were illegally staying in the city and involved in drug smuggling. The team identified and arrested the 28 foreign nationals.

The DCP said that they were accused to have overstayed in India without valid visas. They were brought before the Foreign Registration Office, which ordered the deportation. Afterwards, They were sent to a detention center. A total of 82 foreign nationals have been detained and deported so far this year. Notably, a total of 437 foreign nationals were sent for deportation in 2022.
