PM Narendra Modi on Gandhi Jayanti 2025 Latest News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, stated, “We will keep following his (Gandhi’s) path in our quest to build a Viksit Bharat.”

PM Modi said that Gandhi Jayanti is about paying homage to the extraordinary life of beloved Bapu, whose ideals transformed the course of human history.

“He demonstrated how courage and simplicity could become instruments of great change. He believed in the power of service and compassion as essential means of empowering people. We will keep following his path in our quest to build a Viksit Bharat,” PM Modi said in a post on X.

Gandhi Jayanti, celebrated on October 2nd every year, marks the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, affectionately known as Mahatma Gandhi or Bapu.

The day is celebrated to honour the birth of Mahatma Gandhi, one of the key leaders of the Indian independence movement.
He was a pioneer of the philosophy and strategy of non-violence (Ahimsa). Gandhi always adhered to the path of non-violence in India’s struggle for freedom and in various campaigns to achieve it.

Mahatma Gandhi is also known as the Father of the Nation. He was assassinated on January 30, 1948. Gandhi was a lawyer, anti-colonialist, and political ethicist by profession.
