According to reports, security personnel fired live rounds—shooting one person in the head and the other three in the chest and other upper body parts.
Ever since the violence broke out, the people of Ladakh, headed by the Leh Apex Body and Kargil Democratic Alliance, have been demanding an impartial judicial inquiry into the deaths.
Apex Member Tsering Dorjey Lakruk claimed that he is certain no order was issued for shooting with live rounds that day.
The LAB and KDA have also demanded the release of Sonam Wangchuk, who was detained on September 26 under the National Security Act, 1980, and is currently held in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
His wife, Gitanjali Angmo, on Thursday wrote to President Droupadi Murmu requesting the release of the internationally renowned climate activist, condemning his unlawful arrest.
