New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday appointed state presidents of several states. The party has appointed Adesh Kumar Gupta as Delhi BJP president in place of Manoj Tiwari. Adesh Gupta is a former mayor of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation.
After retiring from the post of party president, Manoj Tewari tweeted, "I would like to thank all the workers and the people of Delhi for the love and support they have given during 3.6 years as BJP state president." Sorry for any inconvenience. Congratulations to the new state president Adesh Gupta.
Adesh Gupta has experience as a councilor and mayor of North Delhi. This means that his experience in Delhi politics is quite low. However, Adesh Gupta is not a popular face like Manoj Tiwari.
In 2017, he got a ticket in the MCD elections and won. He was later made the mayor of North Delhi.
