Sikh Families Took Refuge in the Homes of RSS Swayamsewaks in 1984: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 100th Anniversary of RSS Speech Delhi Latest News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the centenary celebrations (100th anniversary) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as the Chief Guest on 1st October 2025 at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi.
PM Modi stated that his government is dealing ‘effectively’ with the issues of India’s economic dependency on other nations, alleged ‘conspiracies to break unity in India’ and alleged ‘conspiracies to change demography.’
Addressing the gathering on the 100th anniversary of RSS, the PM said, "The challenges and struggles of today's times are different. Economic dependency on other countries, conspiracies to break our unity, conspiracies to change demography... as a prime minister, I will say it with all humility that I am satisfied that our government is dealing with all these issues effectively."
PM Modi stated that every RSS ‘Swayamsevak’ has unflinching trust in democracy and constitutional institutions. "When Emergency was imposed on the country, then this trust gave strength to every Swayamsevak to struggle."
"Establishment of RSS on Dussehra 100 years ago was not just a coincidence. This was the resurrection of a tradition that was continuing since thousands of years. We are lucky to be witnessing centenary of the Sangh,” PM Modi further added.
He said that unity in diversity has always been the soul of India. If this principle is broken, then India will weaken.
He added that RSS has stood strong through every crisis, rooted in faith in democracy, and that despite challenges, RSS stands strong and is tirelessly serving the nation and society.
The PM said that RSS has made countless sacrifices, guided by one principle of 'Nation First' and one goal - 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat'.
"RSS believes in 'One India, Great India', yet post-Independence, attempts were made to prevent it from joining the national mainstream,” PM said.
During the RSS Centenary celebrations today, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, also addressing the gathering, stated, "Government of India's Ministry of Culture organized this event and I have come as a representative of the RSS... On behalf of the RSS, I want to thank the government for organising this event... Tomorrow's 'Vijayadashmi' is special for the RSS. The RSS will be celebrating its 100 years of service to the nation tomorrow, as the organisation enters its 101st year. The RSS has seen 100 'Vijayadashmi'. The Prime Minister decided to release a postal stamp and a special coin on this occasion."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi released “a specially designed commemorative postage stamp and coin highlighting the RSS’ contributions to the nation” on the occasion.
"... This Rs 100 coin has the National Emblem on one side, and on the other side, there is an image of Bharat Mata, seated on a lion in 'varad mudra', and swayamsevaks bowing down before her with dedication. This is the first time in the history of independent India that an image of Bharat Mata has been shown on our currency,” PM Modi said in his speech.
He added, “The special postal stamp launched today also has its importance... In 1963, RSS Swayamsevaks also proudly participated in the Republic Day Parade. This postal stamp has an image of that historic moment."
PM Narendra Modi stated that different organisations within the RSS ‘serve the nation by working for every part of life’.
He claimed that the sub-organisations in RSS do not contradict each other.
“The RSS further has many sub-organisations, but no two sub-organisations within the organisation contradict or have divisions with each other. The aim and essence of all the sub-organisations within the RSS is the same - Nation First,” PM said.
He claimed that there were ‘infinite conspiracies’ to prevent RSS from coming into the mainstream.
"In its journey of dedication to the nation, it's not as if RSS has not been targeted, or been conspired against. Even after Independence, efforts were made to crush the RSS. There were infinite conspiracies to prevent RSS from coming into the mainstream... There are times when we accidentally bite or crush our tongue with our teeth, but that doesn't mean we break our teeth.”
“Despite all the bans and conspiracies against the organisation, RSS never had any place for bitterness against anyone because we know, we are not different from society, but a part of it... RSS swayamsewaks have an unwavering faith in the constitutional institutions of the country..." PM Modi added.
