RSS Root Of Problems; Half Will Be Resolved If It Stops Dividing: Congress On The 100th Year Of RSS
“At the time of independence, its leaders neither went to jail nor were ever banned by the British”
Congress On The 100th Year Celebration Of RSS, PM Modi RSS Centenary Celebration News: Congress, on Wednesday, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), called it an organization that ‘divides the country’ and, reflecting on history, strongly criticized the RSS.
Congress, calling RSS the 'root' of most of the country’s problems, stated that ‘The day this organization stops setting the country on fire and hollowing it out, more than half of the problems will be resolved.”
In a lengthy statement issued on its X handle, Congress said, “At the time of independence, its leaders neither went to jail nor were ever banned by the British.”
It accused RSS members of helping the British suppress the ‘Quit India Movement’ launched against the Britishers.
“During the 'Quit India Movement' launched against the British in 1942, when the entire country was going to jail, the RSS was helping the British suppress this movement.”
It said a slogan about the RSS's betrayal was on everyone's lips, and the slogan shared in the statement reads as “Jo deshbhakt the, wo jang mein gaye, Jo gaddar the, wo Sangh mein gaye (Translated as Those who were patriots went to fight, Those who were traitors joined the Sangh.)”
Congress stated that no members of the RSS ever went to jail during India’s struggle for freedom.
Congress said that the RSS is the organization that called patriots and revolutionaries like Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, and Chandrashekhar Azad anarchists and worked in favor of British rule.
It called out the organization in clear words, saying RSS creates communal divide between Hindus and Muslims, that it splits the country into two, and has hollowed the country out.
Congress called RSS an organization whose hands are stained with Mahatma Gandhi's blood.
Congress said that the members of the organization were informers for the Britishers.
It further stated that the organization has done nothing but 'harm' the country in the past 100 years since the day of its establishment.
Congress stated that it is the ‘misfortune’ of the country that the activists and supporters of ‘Manusmriti’—those who chose Manusmriti over the Constitution—are now running the nation.
“It is our country's misfortune that workers of a communal and hateful organization like the RSS are directly running the government. Those who have always advocated for the Manusmriti over the Constitution are now becoming Chief Ministers and Prime Ministers in our country. How can we expect social, political, and economic justice from them?” the statement written in Hindi read.
The statement further read that the organization and its members did not participate in any ‘anti-British movement’.
“The RSS, which today teaches the country the ABCs of nationalism, did not participate in any anti-British movement (like the Civil Disobedience Movement of 1930 or the Quit India Movement of 1942) since its establishment in 1925,” Congress said.
Further in the statement, Congress said that the British regime never imposed a ban on RSS while Congress, Socialists, Communists, and other ‘revolutionary organizations’ were repeatedly banned.
“None of its volunteers were ever sent to jail, so they could stay outside and poison people's—Muslim hatred,” it added in the statement.
It blamed RSS for the millions who died in the riots right before independence. “This was the reason why, before independence on 15th August 1947, the country witnessed dangerous bloodshed. Millions of people became living corpses, engulfed in hatred and riots. Despite the countless efforts of Gandhi and Nehru, the country was divided into two parts,” the statement read.
Congress stated that post-independence, the RSS and its members rejected the Indian Constitution and insisted on ‘implementing Manusmriti’.
“The RSS did not send a single representative to the Constituent Assembly,” it added.
“But the people of the country rejected all the plans of the RSS at that time and made them irrelevant. Bitter over this, RSS’s Nathuram Godse shot and assassinated the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi,” it further stated.
“Even after 78 years of independence, the RSS has only one agenda—to ignite flames between Hindus and Muslims to seize power. By taking control of the country's institutions, it spreads hatred and fanaticism. The reality is that today, by misusing power, the RSS has begun selling out the nation.”
“It would not be an exaggeration to say that the RSS is the root of most of the country's problems. The day this organization stops setting the country on fire and hollowing it out, more than half of the problems will be resolved,” it further stated.
However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the gathering today on the centenary celebration of the RSS organization, hailed the organization for its 100 years of service to the Nation.
