2 revenue officers were suspended for alleged dereliction of duty

Two revenue officers were suspended for alleged dereliction of duty in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, an official said. District Development Commissioner Simrandeep Singh issued the suspension order of the tehsildars of Kahara and Chilli Pingal for alleged dereliction of duty, an official spokesperson said. "The suspension of the two tehsildars was ordered in wake of non-compliance in furnishing the information regarding encroachment of state and common forest lands and water bodies in their areas of operation.

"The DC had had asked all tehsildars to file the report by yesterday, but the said officers failed to comply the same," a spokesperson of the district administration said. According to the spokesperson, the suspended officers allegedly failed to turn up at the revenue meeting convened by Singh, nor did they submit the information through an authorised representative. Taking serious note of the matter, Singh suspended the officers with immediate effect and ordered an inquiry. He directed the sub-divisional magistrates of Gandoh and Thathri to take over the charge of Chilli Pingal and Kahara respectively.
