Referring to the travels of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Rahul Gandhi claimed in his speech in San Francisco, America that Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji had visited Mecca, Thailand and Sri Lanka. This part of Rahul Gandhi's speech is trending on social media.

According to people present at the event, during the sloganeering of the Khalistanis, Rahul Gandhi smiled and replied, "A shop of love in the city of hate." Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi mentioned his 'Bharat Jodo Yatra'. Rahul Gandhi said, "Bharat Jodo Yatra is an idea, which is in your heart, it is about respecting each other and being connected to each other. It's about not being violent towards each other. It's about not showing arrogance."

Rahul Gandhi then referred to Guru Nanak Dev Ji and said, "I See my Sikh brothers here. That's what your Guru Nanak dev Ji was all about. That was - be humble, Be at ease, we are nothing compared to Guruji."

Rahul Gandhi added, "I read somewhere that Guru Nanak Dev ji went to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. He went to Thailand and Sri Lanka. This great man was unifying India long before we were born."
