Himachal Pradesh Locals: ‘Need 2 Lanes Road Instead Of 4 Lanes'; Weather Update For August 29

Himachal Pradesh Weather Update For August 29, Himachal Floods, Cloudburst, Manali Roads Latest News:As Himachal Pradesh continues to witness rainfall, cloudbursts, floods, landslides and connectivity losses due to roads washed away in various parts of the state, commuting has become significantly challenging.

Locals appeal to the government to make 2-lane roads instead of 4 lanes, stating 4 lanes are not suitable for mountain terrains and that people face losses due to such wide lanes.

A Manali, Himachal Pradesh local commuter, Swati, says, "Currently, I am facing a lot of difficulty. The road to my office has been washed away, and the route is not even properly walkable. As the sliding continues, it becomes increasingly dangerous. People are saying that the rain will not stop for another 2-3 days.”

She added, “I want to appeal to the government to make this road a little downward. We don't want a 4-lane road; we just want a 2-lane road. People face a lot of loss because of the 4-lane road. 4 lane roads do not work in the mountains. The government should think about it. ..."

Another said, local commuter said, "The connectivity of roads has been lost due to rain. The way these roads are being reconstructed causes the roads to be cut off again from the front. Last night, rain caused debris to come down again. However, now the route is walkable, whereas it was not even walkable before. I want to request the government to repair this road as soon as possible or find an alternative route so that people can commute easily."
