Three Chandigarh Police Officers to Receive President's Police Medal on Republic Day 2026
The awards are conferred in recognition of meritorious service rendered by police personnel.
Chandigarh, Jan 25: The President of India has approved the award of the President’s Police Medal (PPM) for Meritorious Service to three police personnel from Chandigarh Police on the occasion of Republic Day 2026, according to an official press note issued by Chandigarh police on January 25, 2025.
Those selected for the honour include Pushpendra Kumar, Inspector General of Police (IGP), UT Chandigarh, a 2006-batch IPS officer, currently serving as Inspector General of Police, UT Chandigarh.
The medal has also been approved for Jasbir Singh, Inspector, who joined the police force on February 11, 1992 as an Assistant Sub-Inspector and is presently posted as Station House Officer (SHO) at Police Station Maloya.
Surinder Pal, Head Constable, has also been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
The awards are conferred in recognition of meritorious service rendered by police personnel.
In addition, the Chandigarh Administrator’s Police Medal for Distinguished/Meritorious Service will be conferred on twenty-five (25) Chandigarh Police personnel tomorrow.
