Chandigarh Police recover 1 kg 214 grams of gold, Rs 1.42 crore cash during routine check
Police have taken the jeweller into custody and informed the Income Tax Department.
Chandigarh news: During a routine check in Chandigarh, police recovered 1 kg 214 grams of gold and Rs 1.42 crore in cash from a car at a checkpoint near Colony No. 4 Light Point on Sunday.
Personnel from the Industrial Area Police Station stopped the car during routine checking.
The driver of the car failed to produce documents related to the gold and cash, as per information received. However, he claimed to be a jeweller from Ambala and said he had come to Chandigarh to deliver the jewellery.
Police have taken the jeweller into custody and informed the Income Tax Department.
