AP Dhillon's Chandigarh Concert Venue May Change, Here's Why
Officials are now urging organisers to move the concert to Sector 25, which offers a larger and less crowded space.
AP Dhillon Chandigarh Concert Venue May Change Latest News: Following public outcry over disruptions caused by recent concerts in Sector 34, the Chandigarh administration is reconsidering the venue for AP Dhillon’s show on December 21. Punjabi singers Karan Aujla and Diljit Dosanjh’s performances earlier this month drew complaints about traffic gridlock, noise pollution, and significant business losses in the area.
Officials are now urging organisers to move the concert to Sector 25, which offers a larger and less crowded space. "We’ve received complaints and are asking organisers to shift the event. Going forward, we plan not to allow such large-scale events in Sector 34," said Chandigarh Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav.
Traders Voice Concerns Over Business Disruptions
Sector 34 traders, particularly those in the furniture market, expressed frustration over traffic restrictions imposed during Diljit Dosanjh’s concert. They reported that police closed the area earlier than announced, affecting deliveries and forcing shops to shut down for the day.
Charanjiv Singh of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal stressed the need for better planning, stating, “Events like this should be held on the city’s outskirts to avoid disrupting businesses.”
With these concerns in mind, the administration’s move to shift venues for future events aims to address the logistical challenges posed by such large gatherings.
