Citizen participation is instrumental in evaluating the cleanliness of the city and waste management levels, and Kumar stressed its significance in enhancing Chandigarh's ranking.

The short survey addresses key issues like waste management, garbage collection, and sanitation in general. The Swachh Survekshan assessment this year will be based on a number of key parameters like cleanliness, beautification, garbage-free star rating, open defecation-free status, and water sustainability, with citizen participation directly affecting the city's overall ranking.

Kumar described the easy way of giving feedback. Citizens have to go to the portal, input their mobile number, choose a language, and respond to ten questions on cleanliness and waste management. OTP-based authentication will confirm the genuineness of the submission.
