Vegetable Prices Hike: Farmers’ protest lead to rise in rates of vegetable

Chandigarh Vegetable Prices Hike news: Due to the farmers' protest, the arrival of vegetables in the market of Sector 26 has also started getting affected. Due to the non-delivery of vegetables on time, prices have started rising. The prices of vegetables have increased by one and a half times as compared to the previous rates. The general public is getting worried as well.

The market agents say that if the situation continues like this then all the goods will be exhausted in two days and then arbitrary prices will be charged.

Experts believe that due to the farmers' protest, the supply is almost on the verge of stopping. The goods which used to reach the market in 4 to 5 hours from other cities are now taking 18 to 20 hours to arrive. If the situation continues like this, fruits and vegetables will disappear from the market in two days.

Vegetable dealers said that most of the vegetables come via Delhi. At present, due to the closure of the road, only a few trucks are able to reach the market. Due to route diversion, freight transportation has become four times more expensive.
