Rose Festival 2024: Painting competition to be held during rose fest

Chandigarh Rose Festival 2024 news: This year, the UT will be organizing the 52nd Rose Festival at the Rose Garden in sector 16 of Chandigarh from February 23 to February 25. Just like every year, a lot of fun activities are organized during the Rose Festival and, this year, the UT administration has also came up with an on the spot painting competition.

The on the spot painting competition would be held in the Rose Garden itself on the last day of the festival i.e. February 25 from 10 am onwards. Also, in case of rain the venue will be shifted to the Govt. College of Art in Sector 10. 

The competition will be conducted amongst the children from 5 years to 17 years of age and they will be divided into 4 groups depending on the age factor. Also, 2 other groups will be made for the differently able children in which there will be no age bar.

For deciding the entry in each group, age of the child as on 31.01.2024 shall be considered. The conditions are as under:-

Entry forms for the competition will be available at Reception, MC Building, Sector 17, Chandigarh on payment of Rs.50/- for each category from 19.02.2024 to 24.02.2024 from 10:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. The forms will be issued to differently abled participants, free of cost. The duly filled forms along with self attested photo copy of the birth certificate should be submitted at the same location i.e. Reception, MC Building, Sector 17, Chandigarh.

Every participant should be accompanied by parent/guardian who should report at Rose Garden, Sector 16, Chandigarh and in case of rain on 25.02.2024 the veneue for "On the Spot Painting Competition" would be Govt. College of Art, Sector 10, Chandigarh where the competition will be held at 9:00 AM. on 25.02.2024.

The participants should bring painting material and board while drawing sheets will be provided by Municipal Corporation.
