Bihar News: Lalu Prasad Yadav Expels Son Tej Pratap Yadav for “Ignoring moral values in personal life”

Lalu Prasad Yadav Expels Son Tej Pratap Yadav latest news: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday expelled his son and former minister Tej Pratap Yadav from the party for six years ahead of the Bihar state polls. He cited that Tej Pratap's actions, public behavior, and irresponsible conduct do not align with their family values and traditions. Therefore, under the given circumstances, he is distancing him from both the party and the family.

In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Lalu Prasad Yadav stated:
“Ignoring moral values in personal life weakens our collective struggle for social justice. The activities, public conduct, and irresponsible behavior of my eldest son do not align with our family values and traditions. Therefore, in light of these circumstances, I distance him from both the party and the family. From now on, he will have no role whatsoever in the party or the family. He is expelled from the party for six years.”

“He is capable of assessing the good and bad, strengths and weaknesses of his personal life on his own. Those who wish to associate with him should make their decisions using their own discretion. I have always supported public accountability in public life. The obedient members of our family have embraced and followed this principle in their public conduct.”

As per reports, former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav’s expulsion comes after he claimed that his Facebook page had been hacked following a post on the platform alleging he was “in a relationship” with a woman.

According to an Economic Times report, Tej Pratap Yadav also posted on Saturday evening that there was an attempt to “defame and harass” him and his family members.

Meanwhile, assembly elections are scheduled to be held in Bihar later this year.
