Bihar Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad Criticizes Congress for Accepting Tejashwi Yadav as CM Face; RJD Leader Calls Alliance Clear and United

Patna: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tarkishore Prasad, on Thursday claimed that Congress appears weak in the 2025 Bihar elections, which is why it has accepted RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as the Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial candidate.

Speaking to ANI, Prasad said, “Maha Gathbandhan has announced Tejashwi Yadav as their Chief Ministerial candidate and Mukesh Sahni as the Deputy Chief Ministerial candidate. However, there was some confusion due to a media backdrop photo featuring only Tejashwi Yadav during a press conference. The alliance is still uncertain about forming a government.”

“They have been dreaming of this for the last 20 years. The Congress appears weak in this election, presumably why they have accepted Tejashwi Yadav as the CM face,” he added.

Meanwhile, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is yet to announce its Chief Ministerial candidate.

RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan CM candidate Tejashwi Yadav told ANI, “We've never been confused about this. We're clear on this matter. But the question is, who will be the NDA's face? So far, no joint press conference has been held, no vision has been revealed, no agenda has been announced, and no Chief Minister has been announced. Amit Shah's statement clearly shows that Nitish Kumar is not going to be made Chief Minister. He stated that after the elections, the MLAs of the legislative party will choose their leader. BJP doesn't want Nitish Kumar to become Chief Minister.”

"Mukesh Sahani comes from the extremely backward community. Apart from him, there will be other Deputy Chief Ministers as well..." Yadav added.

Earlier today, the Mahagathbandhan announced Tejashwi Yadav as its Chief Ministerial face during a press conference attended by Congress leaders Pawan Khera and Ashok Gehlot. However, the absence of Rahul Gandhi drew attention, with BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad questioning, “Every party’s symbol was there, but Rahul Gandhi’s photo was missing. What kind of alliance is this?”

Adding to the controversy, BJP National Spokesperson Syed Zafar Islam claimed that Rahul Gandhi preferred Tariq Anwar as the CM face instead of Tejashwi Yadav. Prasad also alleged that both Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav are facing legal issues.

Bihar Congress In-Charge Krishna Allavaru Criticizes NDA, Highlights Mahagathbandhan’s Unity and Agenda

Bihar Congress incharge, Krishna Allavaru, on Thursday took a dig at the NDA alliance, stating that the Mahagathbandhan has both unity and a clear face to implement its promises, unlike the NDA.

“All India bloc has presented a vision for Bihar and its people. We have a concrete agenda covering education, health, employment, and farming. We also have the unity and a leader to implement all these promises. I want to ask the NDA for their report card in Bihar,” Allavaru said.

He further added, “The NDA neither has a vision nor a clear face. Amit Shah should clarify whether Nitish Kumar will be the NDA’s Chief Ministerial candidate or not.”
